Rainmakers take seventh in BC Provincial Basketball Championships

The team goes 2-2 on for the tournment

The Charles Hays Secondary School senior boys basketball team beat Clarence Fulton 62-52 on March 10 in the BC Highschool Basketball Provincial Championships. The win puts the Rainmakers in seventh place for the tournament. Earlier, the Rainmakers lost 60-56 in a tightly contested game against Shawinigan Lake.

Remaining 2A draw

The defending champions — and top-ranked seed — from Brentwood College will get a chance at a second consecutive gold medal after hammering the No. 5 Seycove Seahawks 95-57 in the semifinals.

They will face the No. 3 King George Dragons, who handed the No. 2 Westsyde Whundas their first loss of the season, 61-50.

The final is set for 3:45 p.m. while Seycove and the Whundas will battle for bronze earlier in the day.
