Prince Rupert's Devin Oakes called up to Blazers' roster

Devin Oakes will play the 2013/2014 season with the Kamloops Blazers.

After briefly joining the team last year, Prince Rupert Minor Hockey product Devin Oakes will be joining the Kamloops Blazers for the 2013/2014 Western Hockey League Season.

Oakes played the last season with the Kamloops Storm of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League, though his season was cut short by injury. Oakes played 32 games during the season scoring eight times and adding 13 assists for 21 points.

This year, the Prince Rupert native will wear #23 on the ice and be with the Blazers for the rest of the season.  According to the Kamloops Blazers website, Oakes suited up for eight games for the Blazers during the 2013 WHL playoffs, recording no points and four penalty minutes during the team's run.

Oakes was listed by the Blazers in 2011.
