RTI dumping can't be ignored

Re: Contamination at Ridley Island Coal Terminal

As an elected representative for the commercial gillnet fishing fleet, I want to caution the public not to accept an Environment Canada whitewash of this obviously serious situation.

The present federal government is developing an evermore casual attitude to environmental science and protection of habitat. They seem to be ready to sacrifice environment for jobs or industrial "progress".

The Skeena River has main-stayed the Rupert economy with fishing jobs for 120 years. In spite of excessive restrictions based on lack of real science, by DFO and lack of federal funding to do any science, the Skeena still contributes hugely to commercial and sports fisheries. The river and its estuary must be protected at all costs.

The public must not let a crown corporation receive special treatment. It might encourage their management to seek appointment to the Senate!
