Just a note to comment upon your story regarding the BC Ferries.
I first visited PR 2 years ago, taking the ferry up to Bella Coola from port Hardy, and returning from PR. I can not believe how expensive the same trip is costing us this time. I certainly see the cost increase as a serious disincentive to visiting here. The cost is almost $1,000 for the two of us, 2 meals, and our small car. There are not enough people on the planet who can afford this. No small wonder tourism is off. What about people who live here? There is no question in my mind that the BC Ferries should have a special, subsidized pass (maybe not with automobile) to get from point A to point B.
Shame on Canada for letting this valuable service degrade to this level.
