Wolfgang passed away peacefully at his home in Prince Rupert, BC with his family and his dog Dolly by his side.
He was born in Charlottenburg Berlin, Germany. He immigrated to Canada in 1953 and worked and lived in Preston, Ontario, before moving to Prince Rupert, BC in 1958. He worked at the pulp mill for 35 years and he raised his 3 children.
Wolfgang enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, gardening and gathering firewood for heating his home. He was well known by his coworkers and family for doing daily exercises and up to 50 push-ups and sit-ups every morning. He was always encouraging folks to trust Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and Tithing.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 19 years Patricia; his children Jacqueline (Lloyd), Alfred (Meredith), Steven (Lori), ((Step)) Simone (Tyler), Trevor; grandchildren Jonah, Krista, Zoey, Shin, Ryder, Dylan, ((Step)) Lucas and Leviticus; and his sister Dr. Karin Funke (Dr Klaus Funke) and many nieces and nephews in Germany.
He was predeceased by his first wife Frances Elizabeth Hellfors and his brothers Sven, Helmut and Harald Hellfors in Germany.
Thanks to Dr Tania DelKerk, Dr Amor Kloppers, and the Nursing staff at Norther Health Prince Rupert for their care of him.
His home going service will be Friday, February 14, 2020 @ 11 am at the Prince Rupert Pentecostal Tabernacle 1220 Portage Road.
