December 18, 1964 - October 3, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Billy Evans at his home on Oct. 3.
Bill was born in Prince Rupert Dec. 18, 1964 to Beverly (Gatzke) Evans and Michael Evans.
Bill is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kori Evans, sons Michael, Zachary and Maddox Evans and daughter Gabrielle Gianna Evans, his brothers Bruce (Dona), Brad (Becky), and Brett Evans of Prince George, many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Bill started his long career of 44 years as a longshoreman at the age of 14 in 1979 and became a union member of Local 505 at the young age of 19. In 1996 when the pulp mill closed and work longshoring was scarce, Bill decided to work in Vancouver on a travel card. It was there in Vancouver he became foreman at Frazer Surrey Docks. Bill would spend many years travelling between Prince Rupert and Vancouver before settling down for good in Prince Rupert.
Bill was not afraid of hard work. He was old school. As many who knew him would tell you, Bill would tell you how it was - often with no filter. That was just Billy.
Bill always enjoyed his regular coffee groups.
Bill would love to just jump in the car and go for a cruise. He wouldn't think twice of going to Terrace on a whim for supper.
Bill dreamed of travelling and was planning his first trip to Mexico early next year then Vegas in the fall.
Bill loved his Chihuahuas' Peaches and Coco but most of all he loved his children. Family meant everything.
Bill will be remembered for his unique and witty sense of humour, his generosity for others and his leadership and vast knowledge. He was truly one-of-a-kind.
He will be missed by all.
