November 9, 1942 - December 9, 2023

In Loving Memory ~

He loved his cake, family and baseball, but not necessarily in that order. Weston was born on November 9, 1942 in Liverpool, QC, Nova Scotia to parents Burns and Etta Chivers.

He met Margie at a skating rink in Bridgewater Nova Scotia in 1968. They were married the following summer and for their honeymoon they took a road trip across Canada, destination, Prince Rupert.

Prior to the newly weds returning home he applied for a job at the pulp mill, was hired and started working immediately. He worked at the pulp mill until it closed in 2005. He finally made a return trip back home to Nova Scotia in 2013. The running joke in the Chivers house was that dad didn't want the honeymoon to end.

In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and baseball. Upon retirement he found a new interest in gardening and baking. Once Margie showed him how to make pastry he took over the job of making pies. He was also well known for his shortbread cookies at Christmas time.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, son Tim (Tanja), grandson Brayden and daughter Marlene, sisters Janet (Mike) Wagner and Patricia (Bob) Orescanin, sister in law Lynn Chivers and many nephews and nieces.

He is predeceased by his brother Bill.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the Prince Rupert Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Weston over the numerous hospital visits after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2022.
