February 22, 1938 - May 18, 2024

In loving memory ~

Victor Charles Prystay passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2024 after struggling with Parkinson's Disease over the last few years. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends to whom he was a dedicated Husband, Father, Dido, Uncle, and Mentor.

Victor was born on February 22nd, 1938 in Prince Rupert, BC to Theodor (Fred) and Anna Prystay. Victor spent the majority of his life in Prince Rupert working at the Pulp Mill, as a Commercial Halibut Fisherman, and finally with a 50-year career as a Real Estate Broker/Agent.

Apart from his beloved Familia, people were Victor's greatest passion, and he took great pride in introducing newcomers to Prince Rupert with his "ten-cent tour". Victor was often people's first contact in town, and he was passionate about helping them settle in and feel welcome.

He dedicated his time to countless boards and community organizations over the years - always exhibiting a "Perennial Pollyanna" hope of a bright Prince Rupert future.

In his spare time, Victor was an avid golfer, hunter, political junkie, wine connoisseur, and chef.

Victor leaves behind his wife of 44 years Wendy, brother Roy (Iris), daughters Janet (Ian), Lynne (Don), son Jamison (Tiffany), grandchildren Adrienne (Sheldon), Geordie, Katie, Laurel, and Harrison, and Great-Grandchildren Cole and Summer. Victor will also be remembered by countless beloved Nieces, Nephews, extended family and many friends who became family.

Funeral Mass will be held at the Annunciation Church on Saturday June 29th at 1PM with Celebration of Life at 2PM to follow at The Crest Hotel's BC Room.

In lieu of flowers please donate to a Prince Rupert Charity of your choice or the Parkinson's Society of BC.
