In loving memory ~

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Veronica Basso. She passed away suddenly on September 2, 2024. Born October 23, 1958, she lived a happy life as a proud resident of Prince Rupert, BC.

Veronica is predeceased by her mother, Nancy, and her father, Harry Basso and is survived by the love of her life, Lolito Penafiel, her siblings Tony (Karen), Susan and Rick (Jay), and her nieces, nephews, (step) daughters and grandchildren. She was also welcomed into the family of Carl & Dorothy Etzerza, where Carl proudly called her, his blonde daughter. She also gained several new siblings along the way, as Patsy (Ken) was the one who brought her home to meet the family, brothers John (Shelley), Bill, Carl (Steff), Char & recently deceased brother-in-law Markus. She will also be missed dearly by her loving cat, Jasmine.

Veronica was an exceptionally proud Nona, Stepmom and Aunty known for her delicious pies, beautiful art and fun spirit. She was kind, caring, thoughtful and supportive and brought joy everywhere she went with her beautiful smile and warm personality. She had a passion for helping all animals and was a dedicated volunteer in her earlier years. She enjoyed painting, fishing and loved to dance, but most of all enjoyed time with her family and friends.

Veronica's Celebration of Life will be held on September 27, 2024, 11am at Annunciation Church. In lieu of flowers, her family will display her paintings at the reception following her Celebration of Life. Veronica's art will be available to take home by donation, with donations going to the Annunciation Church.
