Sheila was born in Kimberley, BC and moved to Prince Rupert, BC as a teacher in the early 1960's.
Sheila is survived by her husband Vincent (Ole) Lid, her brother, Lorne Fulton and nephew, Jamie Fulton. Sheila leaves to mourn many close friends, far too numerous to mention, who she kept close contact with throughout her life.
Sheila and Ole shared a life full of friends, world travels, and their beloved Schnauzers. They loved to walk their dogs on the waterfront, and the neighbours' dogs too when they no longer had any of their own. Entertaining their numerous friends in their home was another favourite pastime.
Sheila loved to read and discuss books. She was a past member of the Prince Rupert Library Board of Directors from 1982-89 serving as Vice-Chair in 1985 and Board Chair from 1986-88. Sheila served on the Province of British Columbia's "New Approaches" Library Task Force in 1987-88. Sheila was a long-time member of the Prince Rupert Book Club where she was known for welcoming new members and for speaking her mind.
Club members will miss spending their year-end June meeting on the deck at Sheila's followed by potluck at her beautifully set table, adorned with her favourite pink peonies.
