Sheila passed away peacefully at 08:30 am in the North Pod of Acropolis Manor in Prince Rupert, B.C.

Sheila was born and raised in Golden, B.C. and was the youngest of six children born to Scottish immigrants. Sheila attended her Registered Nursing training at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary and started her career in Trail, B.C. before moving to and living in Prince Rupert for the next 60 years. Sheila worked on Pediatrics, as Head Nurse on the Surgical ward and in the Day Care Surgery area before her retirement in 1994.

Sheila loved retirement. Her time was spent travelling with her children and grandchildren and she had a special place in her heart for Maui. She also spent many hours golfing with her friends and volunteering for the Red Cross Cupboard and the Performing Arts Centre. Sheila loved a good party, music and spending time with her good friends.

Sheila is survived by daughter, Debbie, and granddaughter, Kelly, daughter, Diane, and son, Michael, and grandchildren, Devin and Hayley. Sheila was predeceased by her daughter, Janice, in 1970.

Sheila’s family would like to thank Dr. Tania De Klerk for her care and also thank and acknowledge the hard work and care provided to mom by the care aides and LPNs at Acropolis Manor.

There will be a celebration of life for Sheila on April 29th, 2017, at the Crest Hotel in Prince Rupert, B.C. from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Please join us and bring some memories of Sheila to share. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sheila’s name to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia.
