August 22, 1939 - May 31, 2020
Roberta (Bobbi/Berta/Bert) Mary Hadland (née Reid), age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Eden Intermediate Care Home after an eight year decline from dementia following a stroke.
The eldest of three children, she was born in Prince Rupert, BC on August 22, 1939 to Robert and Kathleen (Pollock) Reid, both deceased. Survived by her loving husband, Ron Hadland; two daughters: Holly (Emanuele) Porra and Gail (Adrian) Vandermey; four granddaughters: Courtney (Daniel) Bridge, Amy Porra, and Sarah and Abigail Vandermey; her two brothers: Bob (Val) Reid and Jack Reid; two nieces: Kathy Siemens and Melinda Wright; and a nephew, Joshua Donnelly.
Roberta cherished her time working as a telephone operator for BC Tel in Chilliwack, Vancouver, and Prince Rupert. She held many fond memories of her time there and created many lifelong friendships. Roberta was also a longtime member of Richmond Alliance Church and enjoyed her time as the church secretary.
Roberta was a woman of many creative passions including playing the piano, drawing, creating cards, and writing letters which were personalized with her beautiful handwriting. Her greatest joy, though was her family and friendships. She loved people and gave her time to them.
Even though Roberta leaves a great many friends and loved ones and a trail of good memories of her infectious laughter and smile, she will be missed, but never forgotten. We look forward to the day we will see each other again.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to be determined.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Eden Intermediate Care Home for all the love and care she received over the past 16 months.

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
