Robert passed away peacefully at Prince Rupert Hospital with his family by his side on December 13, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife Myrna Johnson; daughters Carol Johnson (Calvert Brown) and Melody Johnson (Carmen Stevens); sons Troy Johnson, Robert Jr. Johnson (Alice Edgars), and Steven Johnson; siblings Stan Johnson, Alberta Robinson (Bill Robinson), Donna Clayton (Tom Clayton), and Sarah Johnson (Ken Collinson); grandchildren Jennifer, Tanya, Kenneth, Preston, Kassidy-Rose, Michael, Kara, Amy, and Tawny; and great grandchildren: Evelyn, Tatum, Ken, Corbin, Alex, Dallas, Asher, and Liam.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, William and Laura Johnson, and his children Allen Johnson, Randy Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, and Sherry Johnson. His brothers, Sam, William, Floyd, Edward, and Vernon. His sisters, Velma, Sadie, Alberta, Barbara, Dixie, and Mona.
Robert loved being on the water and spending time on his gillnet boat the "Sherry Jay II". His favorite places was Inverness, Bone Yard and Point Lambert. His fishing career continued for 60 years and the last time he spent time on the boat was September 2012 after being in the Johnstone Straits with his son, Troy.
His was passionate about soccer and basketball in which he played for the Prince Rupert Chiefs and the Port Edward Blues. He enjoyed many hobbies such as snooker, 8 ball pool, cribbage, backgammon, and card games like Crazy 8, Rummoli, and Gin Rummy.
Robert touched the lives of all he met with his passion, energy, amazing sense of humour and his loving and kind spirit. His accomplishments were many, but his legacy was the heart that he put into everything he did. We are filled with gratitude to have shared a lifetime of love with him.
