Olga McColl (Wilson) passed away suddenly at home on March 2nd. Born in 1929 in Winnipeg, Olga was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.
She is survived by her husband Douglas, her children Carol, Joanne (Tony), and Lorne; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Serina (Alexandra, Mathew), Charlene, Darrell/Wendy (Rayah).
Over the course of her life, she lived in Vancouver, Prince Rupert, Prince George, Saanichton, Sidney, and Kelowna, before returning to Saanichton.
She was pre-deceased by her first husband Carl Wilson on May 21st, 1985.
Through her younger years, Olga exhibited an exemplary work ethic and carried much responsibility. She held many work roles in her life including working in income tax, a fish plant, as a court clerk, and as a secretary for Grace McCarthy. The conventional work she was most proud of was during her time with the RCMP in Prince Rupert when she became the first female Justice of the Peace in B.C.
Wife/Mother/Grandmother/Great-grandmother will be fondly remembered as an accomplished knitter gifting many with intricate articles, for her home cooking (no one made better perogies), her stories about her travel adventures, her significant volunteer work with Eastern Star, her tremendous generosity, and most importantly her family values.
She loved, she was loved, and she taught us all how to live our best life. Rest well. We will miss you.
