Nellie passed away peacefully in hospital in Victoria, BC. She was 85 years of age.

Nellie was born in Anyox, BC and grew up in Prince Rupert. She attended Borden Street Elementary and Booth Memorial High. Nellie would be best remembered as the secretary at Booth School where many a student passed by her sympathetic gaze on their way to a fireside chat with the Principal. Nellie also worked for Doctor Kergin in her younger years as well as at the Department of Indian Affairs.

Nellie was an ardent volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 27 Ladies Auxiliary. She also loved helping out with the Rainbow Archers and the summer competitions out at Green River. Nellie was a fixture in the bowling community and loved the socializing that was part of the sport. Some of her fondest memories were of her high school days, playing for Bo-Me-Hi's Rainbirds basketball team. She was small but fast.

Nellie is survived by her devoted husband of almost 62 years, Andrew, two children, Victor and Marjorie Rochon (Guy). Nellie was blessed with two grandchildren, Keeley (Nathaniel) and Jake (Lindsay) and a special step grandson, Nathan,. brother, Voiislav (Sonny) Pavich of Delta, and two sisters, Annie Cukrov of Sacramento and Marjorie Contini (Mario) of Burnaby. Also many nieces and nephews.

Nellie was pre-deceased by her parents, George and Eva Pavich and nephew, Michael Pavich.
