Curtis, Melanie and Todd are saddened and in disbelief to announce the passing of their beautiful baby sister, Melissa.
In her last days, we surrounded Melissa with love, comfort, hugs, laughter and most importantly, respect until she reunited with her Mom and Dad, Norma and Gordon.
Melissa fought a very courageous battle with cancer. She had a gentle, kind, heart of gold soul and would never think twice to help a stranger in dire or desperate need.
Melissa was also a loving and devoted mother to her daughter Laila. Laila was her world, her purpose to live, her everything. Dance was Melissa's passion growing up. She loved to express herself on stage and was very proud of her accomplishments.
Melissa is survived by her sister Melanie (Terry), brothers Curtis (Valerie) and Todd (Debra), her daughter Laila (Brad, Damien, Jordon, Tylar), sisters Tracy, Natasha, Raven and Joelene, brother Richard.
Melissa undeniably received the best care and compassion and was strongly understood by Dr. Montana Halliday and her colleagues, Prince George BC Cancer Agency, the home care/ support nurses and staff, and the Prince George Rotary Hospice House. Our family would like to extend all of our thanks and gratitude to each and everyone of you.
