Mavor Carter passed away in Acropolis Manor, Prince Rupert, on July 14, 2023, at the age of 92, with family by her side. We miss her dearly but know she is "walking and leaping and praising God (Acts 3:8)" with her heavenly legs. Mavor Carter was born May 24, 1931, in Calgary Alberta, to Hubert and Margaret Fowler. Mavor worked as a telephone operator and secretary before marrying Cyril Carter on September 5th, 1959. She is affectionately remembered by her daughters as a loving stay-at-home mom, cook extraordinaire, encourager, and prayer warrior. She loved all her grandchildren and played an active role in raising Grace and Hannah. She also taught Sunday school, played piano for the church, taught piano and took in boarders. She was an active member of the Cathedral Church of St Andrew. She is predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Marie, Mercedes, and Marilyn, and her husband Cyril. She is survived by her brother Clarke (Dianne), daughters Dawn (Blair) and Victoria (Tim), and grandchildren Andrew (Nicole), Daniel, Torreana (Nathan), Grace and Hannah. She is missed by her ever faithful best friend, Penelope. In the last few years of her life, Mom's theme song was "Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before". Mom loved Jesus and lived for Him, and modelled that in her life. We are happy that you are now with Jesus, Mom. Rest in peace. At Mavor's request, a private memorial will be held with close family. The family would like to thank the staff of Acropolis Manor for caring for Mom in the last five years of her life.
