May 31, 1931 – December 31, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Mom passed on New Years Eve. Marguerite was born at Mersey Point, Nova Scotia, eldest daughter of Matthew and Lois (Boutillier) Lloyd of East Side Port LeHebert, NS. Mom and Dad together with their family boarded Via Rail in Halifax relocating to Terrace, BC in 1969 and later relocating to Prince Rupert. Mom was a nurse for many years and worked at Mills Memorial, Prince Rupert Regional and Acropolis Manor until her retirement. She was a resident of Acropolis Manor since 2010 after being diagnosed with Dementia.
Family and friends were very important to our parents and after their retirement they spent many happy years travelling in their motorhome to Alaska, USA, BC and across Canada to Newfoundland and Nova Scotia too many times to count stopping along the way to see old friends of which they had many and every family member they knew. Our Mom was a very social person and her door was always open to friends and family that needed a bed for a night or two or a week. She spend many hours sewing and doing needlepoint and embroidery and could not pass a yarn shop or thrift shop without going in to see if she could find some embroidery thread, yarn or a pattern that was on sale.to add to her collection.
Mom leaves to mourn her daughters Elizabeth (Loran) Chilliwack, Alice (Chris) Sicamous, sons – Allan, Powell River, Leonard (Christine) Terrace, Allax (Amber) Powell River, sister Susie Cranton, Terrace, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by husband Leonard, sons Mathew and Mark, granddaughter Sandi.
The family would like to thank the staff of Acropolis Manor for their thoughtful care of our Mom the last 9 years. There will be no service by request, cremation has taken place and an informal Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place in Terrace at a future date.
