November 26, 1945 - April 16, 2021
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Leroy on April 16, 2021 at the University Hospital of Northern BC, surrounded with love of his family and friends and the Primary Care team.
Survived by his niece Bobbi (Frank), nephew Jason (Ina) and his great nieces and nephew Sofia, Elijah, Cedra, and many cousins and dear friends, Leroy and his bright smile will be missed.
Predeceased by his parents, Alma and George and his brothers Oliver and baby Senum, Leroy is now at peace.
Born in St. Albert Saskatchewan, he and his parents made their way to BC when he was a small child. Leroy, spent much of his life in Prince Rupert and Port Edward. Many will remember him and his brother, Oliver, from Bayview Market in Port Edward, where they ran the business for over 20 years. Leroy was known for his witty comebacks, giving nature and his positive outlook on life.
If there was a vehicle that needed a little fixing, Leroy saw the potential and got it running again...or not. With his incredibly positive attitude and kind heart, Leroy, made an impact on everyone he came in contact with.
Leroy, liked to tease and had a natural ability to make those around him smile. Despite the discomfort due to his cancer and recent fall, Leroy never complained. He continued to shine his bright light until his final breath.
As we cannot safely gather in person to celebrate Leroy's life at this time, we will be holding a virtual Celebration of Life on May 8th, 2021 at 11 am. Please go to this link to join us live in celebrating Leroy.
