March 26, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce Ken's passing on March 26, 2020. Ken (74) passed peacefully in his home with his wife Linda and son Steve at his side.
Ken was born in Chilliwack, BC. After graduating from Chilliwack High he moved to Terrace and worked for McElhanney Consulting Services. Ken eventually settled in Prince Rupert where he continued working for McElhanney for many years. Ken was well respected by his co-workers and the community members he served.
Ken participated in many sports such as baseball, curling, golf and card games such as duplicate bridge. He was a multi-talented but humble man who had a great sense of humor and quick wit.
Ken met his wife Linda in Prince Rupert and they spent many happy years in the outdoors camping, fishing, and hiking. They took dance lessons with a group of friends and attended many of the local dances. Ken was an avid gardener who turned their backyard into a beautiful space. When Ken wasn't working in the garden chatting with neighbours and others who walked by he was often at No 1 visiting friends over coffee.
Ken is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Paula Schwartze(Rick), sons Steve Morgan(Melissa), Nick Moore(Tanya) and stepson Ahren Roy(Tash), his treasured grandchildren Daylon, Carter, Colleen, Aimee, Cameron, Jude and Reece, his mother Audrey Brandon, brothers Dennis(Cathy), Roy, sister Brenda and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his father Albert, brothers Donald(19) and Clifford(21), sister Judy Clarke, step son Nathan Roy(19) and 3 young nieces and nephews.
Ken was a devoted husband, caring father and son, loyal brother and sincere friend.
A wonderful man gone too soon...he will be sorely missed by his wife Linda and all his family and friends. His family would like to thank Dr. Coetsee, Jennifer Nelson, Dr. Stene, and the Northern health nurses, in particular Miranda and Lynn, for their compassionate care of Ken and for the support given to his family during Ken's long illness. To honour Ken, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
