Age 56, of Prince Rupert, BC, formerly of West Caledonia, NS, Jackie passed away on August 18, 2021. Jackie was born in Peterborough, ON, the youngest of seven siblings to the late Dr. Wilson and Connie Ford. His parents passed when he was very young and he was raised by his aunt and guardian Melita Ford in Nova Scotia.
Jackie lived most of his adult life out west and held various jobs in Alberta and British Columbia. When his health declined he moved to Prince Rupert to be closer to family. He had multiple health issues for a number of years which severely impacted his quality of life.
Jackie had a wonderful sense of humour, was quick-witted and had a knack for seeing the lighter side of life. He could keep people in stitches for hours with his many stories about his Aunt Melita and anyone who knew him was aware of his intense love of donairs!
He was kind and he loved children. He was especially devoted to his great niece and nephews- Blake, Lukas and newborn Rylan.
He is survived by brothers Wilson (Cynthia), Barrie, ON (nephews Jason and Christopher); Leland, Cranbrook, BC: and sister Maureen Ryan, Hammonds Plains, NS (nephew Sean). He also leaves special niece Mary Rose (Felice) Ciotoli and brother-in-law John Stuart of Prince Rupert, BC.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his aunt and guardian Melita Ford, sisters Melita Stuart and Wvelma Ford, and brother Clayton. He was also predeceased by his loving partner Julie Bryant.
His ashes will be brought home to Nova Scotia for burial next summer in the family plot in St. Jerome's Parish Cemetery, West Caledonia.
Thanks are extended to Jackie's many friends at the Ocean View. Special love and gratitude to Jackie's niece Mary Rose, her husband Felice and brother-in-law John Stuart in Prince Rupert for all the love and support you gave to Jackie. He loved you all very much and was grateful for everything you did for him.
Your struggles are finally over Jack. Be at peace. We love you.
