James M. Kirk
October 12, 1941 - March 26, 2014
On March 26, 2014 Jim succumbed to cancer at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. James is survived by his wife Vicky (Nee Ewasiuk), and siblings Dennis, Dale & Bev (nee Russell). Jim will be deeply missed. He spent most of his 72 years as a resident of Prince Rupert, involved in service groups, past Exulted Ruler of the Elks, an
executive member of the Legion Board for many years, and most recently the president of Senior Housing
Society. Jim worked in sales, the commercial
fishing industry and as a commissionair.
Jim loved to dance and many knew him as “crazy legs”. He also enjoyed RVing with his loving wife & dogs
Jasmine & Teaka.
A special thank you to Nicola for her love and
support in his final hours. Much gratitude and heartfelt
appreciation goes to Dr. G Coetzee, Dr. Tse and all of the PCU staff for their expert care,
compassion and kindness, also to Dr. Miller and her team at Prince George Cancer Clinic for their kindness,
informative and specialized care. To Prince Rupert hospital physio department for getting Jim mobile so he could
return home and most of all to those friends that helped to keep Jim’s spirits up.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held later this summer.
