Ivan was born in Zavidovic, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Spent his childhood and young adult years in Croatia before immigrating to Prince Rupert, Canada in 1969. He loved Rupert and the people here. He was a sport fisherman for halibut. Loved to swim and bowl. He worked and retired from the Pulp Mill. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. His death grieved a lot of people in Prince Rupert and throughout Canada, through Europe, United States and even Australia. His connections were many and his love for all was limitless. The best uncle that always went above and beyond for his loved ones. The most generous soul that would help out anyone in need.
"He was the best husband and friend a woman could ask for. He had an amazing and kind heart. Our 32 years together were a blessing and he will forever be my angel." - Stefica Sokic
