Hunter John King

August 25, 2001 - March 3, 2025

Born in Prince Rupert, Hunter was a much loved, wonderfully talented, active person, who pursued his interests with a rare passion, and lived life to the fullest. He was a talented musician, enjoyed SCA Medieval Combat, was knowledgeable about a myriad of topics, loved to joke, and was dedicated to helping and protecting those around him.

Hunter loved the Northwest outdoors, and enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, hiking and hunting throughout his life. He carried those experiences with him, and was eager to share his enjoyment of them with others.

He completed his BA in History at UNBC in 2024, and had applied to, and was waiting for acceptance to law school. Not wanting to wait a year for a potential law school start, he was taking HD Mechanics at CNC in Prince George, BC when he suddenly passed away in his dorm after suffering a seizure.

Hunter leaves behind his mother Paula Marks, father Chris King, siblings Gryphon, and Courtney King, grandmother Doreen King, his aunts - Jackie Germscheid, Colleen, Janet, and Daphney Marks, Fiona and Moira King, uncle Rod Germscheid, honourary uncle Chris Karelis, cousins, godparents, and many friends.

Leaving us far too soon, he is sorely missed by his family, and those who knew him well. Tributes,

Hunter's family sincerely appreciate the overwhelming support from Hunter's friends, bandmates,

teachers, classmates, workmates and employers. It is comforting to know that others saw him as they did - a caring, gifted young man.

A Celebration of Hunter's Life will be held in Prince Rupert - Saturday, July 19th, 2025 at 2 pm in the Crest Hotel's BC Room. Casual dress.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Hunter's name to the BC Epilepsy Society, or British Columbia Children's Hospital.
