In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Herb Stewart on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital.
Herb was born in Lockeport, Nova Scotia and started fishing there as a young boy. Eventually he made his way to Prince Rupert to join his brother, Dagger, in the fishing industry. He spent many years doing different types of fishing on the west coast.
In 1995, he joined B.C. Ferries, where he worked until his retirement in 2017.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Althea Stewart, his brother Alan and wife Tilly, brother Ted and wife Valerie, and brother Dagger. Also his son Tyler in 2018.
He is survived by Debby, his wife of 40 years and his son Edward, as well as sisters, Helen, Weasie (Jim) Demings, and brother Russ (Kay). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews both here and on the East Coast.
We would like to give special thanks to Dr. DeKlerk, Dr. Kelian, the ambulance crew and the wonderful nurses and staff who cared for Herbie with such patience and kindness during his time spent in the hospital.
There will be no service.
