In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Helen Toye.
She was born in Smithers, BC, on February 15, 1939, to the late John and Isabella Strachan. Her husband, Wilfred, predeceased her in 1984.
Helen leaves behind her daughter, Karen (Mark), her son, Jamie (Tina), her grandchildren, Jillian, Hannah, and Ethan, and her sister, Barb (Larry). As well as her numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
While growing up in Prince Rupert, BC, she met the love of her life, Wilfred Toye.
Helen will be remembered by many for her love of Wilfred, Elvis Presley, and her witty sense of humor. She loved her family very much and welcomed the friends of her grandchildren with open arms. She insisted that they call her "Amma".
We would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital 3rd Floor nurses and Dr. G. Coetzee.
Helen did not wish to have a memorial service; in lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
