February 22, 1948 - January 18, 2021
Hazel was born February 22, 1948 in Prince Rupert, BC to mother Elizabeth Eirikson and father Harry Owen Young.
She met Tommy Dennis while Tommy was taxi driving on Haida Gwaii. Soon after, Hazel and Tommy moved to Prince Rupert to start a life together. Inseparable, Hazel and Tommy worked together to build a large home for their growing family. Hazel and Tommy were married for thirty-three years.
Hazel left us January 18th, 2021 battling against declining health with her loving son Tom and his wife Adele by her side. Hazel is predeceased by her loving husband Thomas Patrick Dennis and sister Louise Black.
She leaves behind her sisters Marina Jones (David), Winnie Smith (Helmer) and brother Floyd Young, her children Mel (Cathy), Mahalia, Tom (Adele) and Chris (Jelissa), grandchildren: Rachael, Renee, Cody, Donovan (Marci), Reegan, Hayden, Levi, Chase and great grandchildren Kenji and Kairi, Alexis and Jake.
A service was held at Prince Rupert Cemetery on January 22nd, 2021 surrounded by immediate family.
The Lord's Prayer and a hand-written "When I'm Gone Note," which Hazel wrote, was read for those present.
Mom will be devastatingly and deeply missed by all that knew her kind, gentle, green-thumb soul.
