In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward King, at the age of 93. Born in Vancouver he spent his early years at Inverness Cannery and later moved to Prince Rupert, with his parents, as a teenager.
He will be forever loved and remembered by his children: Janice Macphee (Dave), Lori Garland, Elaine Strachan, Chris King (Tezia).
His grandchildren Leanne, Kristy, Robbie, Jeffrey, Lisa, Jodi, Dylan and Austyn and step-grandchildren: Kathy, Mike and Kim.
Great-grandchildren: Nolan, Ivy, Amaya, McKenna, Connor, Emma, Avory and Tavin.
Step great-grandchildren: Jonathon, Katelyn, Callum and Madison and many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 70 years Frances King, grandson Scott Macphee, son-in-laws Gary Garland, Moe Strachan, and step-great grandchild Travis Strachan.
Ed worked at the Coop Fish Plant for a few years and then later worked at the Skeena Cellulose in the wood room as a crane operator. Ed enjoyed working in his workshop as well as fishing, crabbing and picnicking across the harbour. Among their travels he really enjoyed their trip to England to meet his cousins and their tour of Europe.
For many years he looked forward to meeting the guys for coffee at Alfie Dyers and McDonalds.
We would like to thank Dr. T. DeClerk and all the special staff at Acropolis Manor (West Pod) for the genuine care and compassion given to Ed and his family.
Ed will be deeply missed but never forgotten, thanks to all the wonderful memories of him.
There will be no service as per his request.
