April 8, 1931 – July 27, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Gilda on July 27, 2021. She was born in Ruffano, Lecce Italy on April 8, 1931.
She moved to Canada in October of 1957 and married her husband Rocco, where they built their life together in Prince Rupert. There they raised their four children, Antonio Edoardo (Mary), Erminio (Dina), Christina (Jamie) and Genoeffa. For Gilda, family was everything, being the true matriarch of the Schina family.
She was predeceased by her husband in 2008 and daughter Genoeffa in 1973. She leaves behind three children and five grandchildren, Brittany (Ben), Jillian, Stephanie, Hannah and Ethan. Her passion for family has and will carry on for generations.
She will always be in our hearts. We would like to thank the staff at the Residence of Morgan Heights for the care she received in her last years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gilda’s name made to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia would be appreciated. Obituary
