In Loving Memory ~
Dempsey was born in Prince Rupert on July 12th, 1978, and lived a life of passion. He was passionate about his family and friends. Dempsey loved spending time in nature with his partner Kourtney and their daughters Thea, Eiley, and Tayva, camping, fishing, and exploring.
Forever the entertainer, storyteller, and comedian, laughter surrounded Dempsey and everyone around him. Anyone who has ever spent time with Dempsey and his brothers, knows the jokes and laughter hit new decibels. They shared a love and bond only the brothers can understand.
Dempsey was a passionate fisher and hunter, spending time preserving and sharing his latest catch, with friends, neighbours, and strangers alike. He spent hours perfecting his latest smoked salmon and would send fish to his family over the holidays. Dempsey had been reconnecting with his Gitxsan culture. Hunting and gathering were in his DNA.
Learning the language of his mother and ancestors was important to him and gave him great strength.
Dempsey was passionate about helping others and generous with his time: sharing food, collecting and distributing warm clothes to people in need, sharing knowledge, and lending a helpful hand.
If there was one word to describe Dempsey on the soccer field, it was "passionate". He was a fierce competitor, playing hard on fields from Prince Rupert to Kispiox to Cortes Island and beyond.
Dempsey loved to dance, whether it was a spontaneous dance party at home, dance-offs at weddings, or anywhere for that matter; his signature moves were like no other. When we dance in the future, and laugh out loud, Dempsey will be remembered with love and will be dearly missed.
Dempsey was predeceased by Mom Ann Louise Muldoe; Auntie Jacqueline, Uncles Raymond, Mickey, and Laverne Muldoe.
Survived by partner Kourtney McLean and daughters Thea, Eiley, and Tayva; Father Elias Tsakonas and Step-Mother Sarah Tsakonas, Step-Father Lewis Jeffers, Brothers John Muldoe, Constantinos Tsakonas (Colleen Dragseth); Lewis (Bubba) Muldoe (Taylor Christmas), and Chris Veale; Uncle Richard Muldoe (Pat Muldoe), Aunties Judy Muldoe and Marjorie Muldoe; Cousins Melody and family, Keenan, Jason, Leslie and Orion, Lisa (Ed) and Michael Muldoe, Robert Doane and family, Crystal Muldoe, Audrey Muldoe and family; Nieces and Nephews Kiera and Aidan Tsakonas, Aubrey, Jaxon and Jennyann Christmas; and many other uncles, aunties, and cousins of the Gitxsan Nation, and family and friends.
