It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ed at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margret, two children Kristopher and Natalie, and four beautiful grandchildren.
Ed was born in Upland, California and spent his childhood years in Port Stanley, Ontario and Gimli, Manitoba before moving to British Columbia in his early teens.
Ed and Margret met in Vancouver through mutual friends in the Icelandic community and were married on March 28, 1959. They lived in the cannery town of Butedale, B.C. until moving the family to Prince Rupert early in 1966. Ed worked both in the fish plants and on the boats until retiring from the fishing industry and, with his passion for hard work, he then worked with a roofing contractor to the age of 69. He loved to spend time with his friends and had many stories to share over the years.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Please respect the family's privacy at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your charity of choice.
