June 8, 1972 - July 13, 2020
Doug de la Nuez, much loved father, husband, brother, son-in-law and friend, passed away surrounded by his family on July 13, 2020. Doug was born in Prince Rupert on June 8, 1972, fourth child to parents Barbara and Tony, younger brother to Philip, Carmen and Mercedes. Doug married Susan Eby in 2002 and welcomed children Nash, Finn and Gwen, with whom he enjoyed lots of great times at Shames, Lakelse, and travelling.
Doug worked at Skeena Cellulose and briefly as a fisherman, before becoming an aviation mechanic, and later an electrician. For the last 7 years he worked at Ridley Terminals.
Doug was an avid outdoorsman, able to fix anything, and was known for his dry sense of humour, all of which he shared with his children. Doug involved his kids in all of his projects and activities, which generally were taken to almost completion. Doug is survived by his family, and his collection of boats, trucks, snowmobiles, and lanterns that no one else wanted.
Events to celebrate Doug's amazing life will be held in Prince Rupert and Lakelse later this year. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doug's honour to BC Sarcoma Cancer Research.
