September 5, 1942 - February 27, 2018
Diane Margaret Eby, 75, wife of the late Larry Eby of Prince Rupert, B.C. passed away after a long fight against cancer on Tuesday, February 27 in Whitehorse, Yukon.

Born September 5, 1942, in Vancouver General Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Vivian Rempel.

Diane grew up on Sea Island in Vancouver but moved up to what would be her true home, Prince Rupert when she met Larry. It was there she started her family and got involved with the local Sorority chapter and began a lifelong connection to her community through her friendships with her sisters. This relationship carried on in Kamloops when the family moved in the 70's and when she returned to Rupert in her later years.

Diane volunteered at the Rupert Seniors Centre where she was known for her big heart and willingness to help and contribute anyway possible to the community that had given so much to her.

She is survived by her sons and their partners Darrell and MaryBeth of Santiago, Chile, Paul and Nicole of Victoria, BC, and Brent and Wendy of Whitehorse; 8 grandchildren, Sara, Dylan and Ryan of Santiago, Alex, Simon and Nolan of Victoria, and Kira and Charley of Whitehorse. In addition to her husband Larry, she was predeceased by her brother Berne.

As per Diane's wishes, there will not be a funeral service. A small ceremony is being held in Whitehorse to celebrate her life.

A celebration of life will be held for Diane on Saturday, July 21st, at the Prince Rupert Seniors Centre starting at 2pm.

Donations in Diane's name can be made to the BC Cancer Society or to the Prince Rupert Seniors Centre.
