Cyril Frederick Carter was born June 17, 1935 in Heaton Moore, Alberta to Frederick and Lena Carter (nee Madson). He passed away in Prince Rupert Regional Hospital on August 23, 2019 at the age of 84.
He is predeceased by his parents, and siblings Harold, Florence and Ethel. He is survived by his wife Mavor, his sister Milly (age 101), his children Dawn (Blair), and Victoria (Tim), and his grandchildren, Drew, Niel, Torreana, Grace and Hannah.
Cyril grew up on a farm in Alberta where he gained his love of the outdoors; in his adult life he spent many happy hours gardening, enjoying parks, hiking and kayaking. He read extensively for relaxation and knew a lot of history and up-to-date science. He worked in many places across Canada as a civil engineer, locally at the grain terminal and pulp mill on their improvement projects.
He also served many years at the Prince Rupert Cathedral of St Andrew and grew in faith. In his own words, Cyril said of Mavor and himself, "We have decided to follow Jesus." Cyril was loved by his family and all that knew him. He will be dearly missed.
