Carol Van Hulle passed away early Saturday morning, September 17, 2016, after a short battle with cancer.
Carol was born in Mill Village, Nova Scotia, on April 4, 1946. She moved to Prince Rupert with her parents, Marion and Howard Pierce, at age 4 and never left. Carol leaves behind her husband, Donald Van Hulle, her daughters, Carrie Coley (nee Weick) and Leanne Durnford (nee Weick) (Sheldon), her son Kirkland Van Hulle (Hannah Papish), grandchildren Caitlin Tates, Stefanie Tates, Bryan Tates, Adam Durnford, Shawn Coley and Matthew Durnford, sisters Betty (Dave) Heal, Julie Bryant (Jake Ford) and brother Norman (Joanne) Pierce and many nieces and nephews as well as her beloved dog Heidi. Carol’s family would like to thank Brenda, Donna and Andrea and the rest of the home care nurses and staff at the Acropolis Manor as well as Dr. Belgardt, Dr. Coetzee and Jennifer from oncology. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at 1403 Prince Rupert Blvd. on Sunday, October 16, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Society.
