October 8, 1926 - April 29, 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bridget Taylor, born in Argentia, NL on Oct. 8, 1926, who died peacefully on April 27, 2017 after a gradual decline in health. She is survived by her sisters Margaret (Ken) Schoffstall, Nellie Dolan, and Annie Sampson; brother-in-law Martin (Nancy) Dolan; nieces and nephews Jim Dolan, Ann Marie (Andy) Vandermeer, Joe (Raydene) Dolan, Gerard (Trudy) Dolan and Tracy (Chanon) Bernstein, and the children of the above mentioned families; many nieces and nephews back in Newfoundland. She had many friends whose relationships she valued immensely including the Catholic Women’s League sisters. She is predeceased by her husband Bill Taylor (Scotland), her parents Joseph and Annie Sampson, brothers Patrick, Dan and Howard, and brother-in-law Jim Dolan.

In 1999, after the death of her loving husband Bill, Bridget moved to Prince Rupert where she lived the remainder of her years. She enjoyed life to the fullest, was jovial, caring and had a smile for everyone she met. Bridget was a gentle, stately women whose faith in God helped her through rheumatic fever when she was young, and many heart related operations and issues as an adult. This faith greatly eased her mind in her final hours.

Bridget and her family fully appreciate the compassionate caregiving that all the paramedics, nurses (3rd floor and emergency room), doctors, and receptionists at the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital provided throughout these last 2 or 3 years.

Her funeral will be held at the Annunciation Church on Friday,

May 5th at 11 a.m. with Father Terry Brock presiding.

There will be a reception in the Gathering Centre afterwards.
