In Loving Memory ~
The family of Bonnie Chesher of Prince Rupert, B.C. is saddened to announce that God sent His holy angels to carry her to her heavenly home on the 3rd of November at the age of 95 years.
Mom was born the 1st of February 1927 in Mission, B.C. the middle child and eldest daughter of Stanley and Olive Smith. In February of 1956, she and her family moved to Prince Rupert and she immediately fell in love with the people and the city.
She had numerous opportunities to move out of Rupert, but her answer was always, 'No. This is my home. I love it here.'
Mom was a good cook, and the house would often smell of homemade soup and fresh baked buns and bread. She was also an extraordinary baker as many can attest. She loved to bake for her church and various community events.
Whenever she stopped moving and sat down for a few moments she would pick up her latest knitting project and soon her hands would be flying and the needles clicking. We could never figure out how she could keep track of the number of stitches and talk at the same time. Needless to say, she was well known at the local wool shops.
Baptized at the age of sixteen, her Christian faith and church were always very important to her. She was an active member of her church family as long as she was able.
St. Patrick's Prayer captures the essence of mom's faith as she knew her God was always right there with her in the bad times and the good. God has taken her home where she is at peace and at rest.

Christ besides me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ within me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me.
Amen.

Bonnie's family would like to thank the staff at the Acropolis Manor for the wonderful care they gave her during her long stay.
Those wishing to make a charitable donation in Bonnie's name are encouraged to donate to the CNIB, an organization for which she canvassed for twenty-five years.
