Our family is heartbroken to share the news of the sudden passing of our beloved mother Bonnie Flann on March 14th at the age of 78. She passed quickly and peacefully, and we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with our dad, holding hands or dancing among the clouds.

Bonnie was the middle of five children born to George and Phyllis Lindsay in North Bay, Ontario. She met and fell in love with our dad Gerry Flann in 1962, and together they started their family. In 1968, they moved the family from Ontario to Prince Rupert. Throughout their 60 years together, they showed us all—their children and grandchildren—the true meaning of love through the little things in everyday life.

Bonnie dedicated her life to helping others. She loved working with people and found her calling when she completed her Activity Coordinator program. It brought her immense joy to ensure the residents at Acropolis Manor had engaging exercises, crafts, new adventures and activities in their lives.

Over the years Bonnie was involved in many service groups throughout her life, including the Kinettes, the United Church, Girl Guides, Prince Rupert Figure Skating Club, and the Hospice Society. She also enjoyed participating in softball, bowling, curling, and golf.

An incredible crafter, Bonnie excelled in tole painting, woodworking, cross-stitch, sewing, knitting, and more. If you asked her about any craft, she could make it and do it well. She was always happy to teach her skills to anyone who asked. It warms our hearts to know that pieces of her handiwork are cherished in homes around Prince Rupert.

Predeceased by her loving husband Gerald Flann, parents George and Phyllis, brothers Wayne, Blair, and Glen Lindsay, son-in-law David Pedersen, sisters-in-law Anne Grennan and Joan Phillips, and brother-in-law Bob Imrie.

Bonnie is survived by her children: Elaine (John), Norman (Carmen), and Brenda (Garret); grandchildren Blake (Kale), Jessica (Pam), Jared, Megan (Max), and Chase; and her first great-grandchild Landon McRae. Bonnie also leaves behind her beloved sister and best friend Mary Anne Imrie, brother and sister-in-laws, as well as many cherished nephews, nieces, and their lovely children.

Mom was the heart of our family, and she will be forever missed
