It is with great sadness that the family of Basant Kaur Gill announces her passing on August 19, 2021, at the age of 88 years.
Basant was born in Sangatpura, District Moga, in the province of Punjab, India. She married Ram Singh Gill in 1950 and together they raised their six wonderful children. In 1988, she and her family immigrated to Canada and settled in Prince Rupert, BC. Bibi Ji as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, always had a permanent smile on her face and always took the time to make sure to visit and share life moments with everyone she loved. Basant was predeceased by her husband Ram Singh Gill (1993). She is survived by her daughters, Balbir K. Deol (Balraj), Surinder K. Uppal (Billu), Bharbhoor K. Brar (Rachpal), Amarjit K. Grewal (Baljit) and sons Sukhmander S. Gill (Jaswinder) and Lakhvir S. Gill (Jaswinder) as well as 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the Acropolis Manner who took such great care of her in her final years.
