I say goodbye to my husband, my partner, the love of my life.
Barry died at home in peace, with family and friends around him. He leaves behind myself, Denise Smith, his daughter Sheavon Smith(Matt), his brother Harold Smith, and sister Beryl Smith. He has many friends all across Canada, and many relatives as well. He had a passion for music, guitar and singing. He also loved hunting and fishing, and being at our cabin on Tochcha Lake.
I would like to say a special thank you to the Moose Hall for providing the hall, and hosting Barry's sendoff/ wake. I would also like to thank Glen Edwards and the boys for playing the live music, all the people who brought the wonderful food, and especially all the friends who came to help us give him a great sendoff!
I would like to thank the Nurses at the Oncology Clinic at PRRH, Jennifer and Kate. They were so friendly and caring!
I would like to thank the Home Care Nurses, especially Lynn Danielle, for the help in caring for Barry at home.
I would also like to thank Dr. J Croft, and Dr. C Coetzee for their care, especially Dr. Croft for putting up with me bugging him all the time!
There was no formal service by Barry's request, I will bring his ashes to Tochcha Lake, and to Newfoundland where he was born.
Donations can be made to the Community Cancer Services Program at PRRH.
