Neumann, Annegret (February 27, 1925 – August 11, 2015)

It is with great sadness that the family of Annegret Neumann announces her passing after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at the age of 90 years.

Annegret will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Siegfried and their children, Robert, Susanne (Pam Moodie), and Reni Bontempo (Luis Fernandez). She will also be fondly remembered by her grandsons, Adam Bontempo (Jayde Jessome) and Dana Bontempo and their father Jim Bontempo. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Rudolf, and Willi (Elsa) Neumann and their children Ralph Neumann, Sylvia Reich and Ingrid Wagner and their families. She’s also remembered by family in Germany: her cousins Frauke Peter (Klaus) and Heinz Knickmeyer (Hanna) and families; and nieces Ute von Wieding and Martina Rothgaenger and families. Annegret was predeceased by her mother Anna Schacke, twin brother Otto Deiterding and his wife Erika, and sister-in-law Erika Weins.

Annegret was born in Berlin, Germany and moved to Prince Rupert, BC in 1956 where she and Siegfried made a happy life working and raising their children. Annegret worked on the BC and Alaska Ferries and enjoyed time with her many friends, neighbours and bowling teammates. They moved to Coquitlam, BC in 1997 to be closer to their children and grandsons.

A Memorial Service for Annegret will be held on Tuesday, August 18, at 1:00 p.m., at the First Memorial - Burkeview Chapel, 1340 Dominion Ave., Port Coquitlam, BC, V3B 8G7, with Pastor Jim Bell officiating.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Annegret to the Parkinson’s Society of BC.
