District of Port Edward with the parcel identifier of012-457-281

ORDER MADE AFTER APPLICATION

BEFORE ) A JUDGE OF THE COURT ) 6 DECEMBER 2023

ON THE APPLICATION of the Petitioner the District of Port Edward, without a hearing and without notice and on reading the materials filed by Anthony D. Price counsel for the Petitioner;

THIS COURT ORDERS that:

1. The collector of the District of Port Edward (the “District”) may serve by substituted service, pursuant to s. 657(2) of the Local Government Act, R.S.B.C., 2015, c. 1, the notice of the tax sale and redemption period (the “Notice”), related to the property legally described as:

PID: 012-457-281

Lot 14 Block 3 District Lot 446 Range 5 Coast District Plan 3005

(the “Property”)

upon John Vickers and Jane Pearl Vickers, the registered owners of the Property, in the form attached to this order as Appendix A, by, together with a copy of this order:

a. posting the Notice on the Property at 737 Sunset Drive, Port Edward, BC;

b. emailing the Notice to jvickers661@gmail.com;

c. mailing the Notice by regular mail to PO Box 160, Port Edward, BC, VOV 1GO;

d. mailing the Notice by regular mail to the Escheat Office at Ministry of Attorney General, Legal Services Branch, Escheat Office, 1 001 Douglas Street, PO Box 9290 STN PROV GOVT, Victoria, BC, V8W 9J7;

e. posting the Notice on a notice board at District Hall at 770 Pacific Avenue, Port Edward, BC;

f. posting the Notice on the District’s website at www.portedward.ca;

g. causing the Notice to be published in The Northern View newspaper; and

h. posting the Notice on the facebook page maintained by the District and service shall be deemed to have been made on the date that the Notice is posted, emailed, published, or received via regular mail, with mail deemed to be received 7 days after mailing.
