Suspect at large after armed robbery

An armed robbery at PJ’s Park Avenue Foods has Prince Rupert RCMP on the search for the suspect.

The police received the report of the robbery at 1665 Park Avenue on Monday, July 17, at approximately 11 p.m.

“A lone suspect entered the store, produced a weapon and demanded money from the cashier. The suspect exited the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled southbound on Smithers Street towards Sloan Avenue,” states the press release.

The police have described the suspect as 5’6” with a stocky build, yet the release doesn’t state the gender of the individual as they had their face painted underneath a disguise.

RCMP are reaching out the any potential witnesses who may have seen the suspect walking on Smithers Street. If anyone has any information to provide they can contact the Prince Rupert RCMP at 250-627-0700 or Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
