Rice encouraging constituents to apply for Rural Advisory Council

Applications are being accepted for B.C.'s Rural Advisory Council, with North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice encouraging her constituents to apply.

Applications are being accepted for British Columbia's Rural Advisory Council, with North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice encouraging her constituents to apply.

The purpose of the Rural Advisory Council is to provide impartial and independent advice to the government on topics relating to rural development.

The deadline for applications is tomorrow, Jan. 9.

"I strongly encourage residents to apply for the Rural Advisory Council. Sitting on councils such as this are one of the best ways to directly influence government and the decisions that are being made about resource development in our region," said Rice, adding an advisory council made up of more rural community members would give northerners' interest a better voice.

"For those that feel they are not having their voices heard, this is a chance to speak up. I hope that some residents from our region apply so that the North Coast can be represented on this council."
