On Nov. 17 members of the Prince Rupert RCMP City Detachment and General Investigation Section executed a search warrant in the 500 Block of 8th Avenue West, Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

The warrant was executed under the Liquor Control and Licensing Act as it was believed that the illegal sale of alcohol was taking place at the residence. Upon entry into the residence police located a man and women who were subsequently taken into custody.  During the search of the residence police located approximately 131 cans of beer and several liters of spirits.

Both occupants of the residence are facing charges for the Unlawful Sale of Liquor, and will appear before the Prince Rupert Provincial Law Courts on Dec. 3.

The Prince Rupert RCMP is wanting to remind the public that the personal sale of liquor without the appropriate licensing is illegal and can carry serious penalties.

As this investigation is ongoing, the Prince Rupert RCMP is asking anyone that may have information regarding this incident or any others to contact the Prince Rupert RCMP Detachment at 250-627-0700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
