The City of Prince Rupert has been recognized as one of the most small-business friendly communities in BC by the provincial government.

Prince Rupert was one of six communities to receive the award - along with Surrey, Kamloops, Ladysmith, Quesnel and Rossland - based on efforts to reduce regulatory barriers, enhance competitiveness, recognize small business contribution to the community and undertake climate action initiatives to support small business. The awards were presented by MLA Kevin Krueger during this week's Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) meeting.

"I was amazed at the breadth of initiatives being undertaken across the province to make doing business better in British Columbia," said Krueger.
