Outbreak at Acropolis

Northern Health is currently managing an outbreak of influenza at Acropolis Manor. There has been lab testing for Influenza A, and although the care facility is not shut off from the public, visitors are asked to delay any non-urgent visits.

Staff and family members have been notified, and signage is in place around the building. Group social activities have been cancelled for the time being.

“We’ve had no new cases for the past few days. We’re hoping the outbreak will be over soon,” said Eryn Collins, communications officer for Northern Health.

Argosy wins B.C. award

A Prince Rupert business took home the best marketer award at the Small Business BC Awards in Vancouver last week. The Argosy was nominated in October and steadily gathered enough votes to make the top five finalists.

In February, Argosy owners, Francis Riley and Richard Haley, had to pitch their business to a panel of experts on why they deserve the best marketer award — and they won.

A second Rupert business, the Wheelhouse Brewing Company, was a Top 5 finalist for the Premier’s Peoples Choice.
