On Saturday, June 2, people in Prince Rupert and across the country took part in a National Day of Action against the Conservative Party’s omnibus budget bill. Nearly thirty people showed up in front of Prince Rupert’s MP Constituency office to rally against the bill, in hopes that the 400-page document is broken up into separate piece, so changes can be debated on separately. The bill details major changes to subjects such as EI, changes to environmental assessment processes, changes to the Fisheries Act, and more.
