Arson is not suspected.

Missing jewelry

On March 2, a possible break and enter at a home on Taylor Street was reported. Two men found breaching alcohol probations

A Rupert resident called the police to report his neighbour was trying to get into his car on Fifth Avenue East at approximately 10 a.m. on March 2. When police arrived, the suspect was still there and officers noticed he was displaying symptoms of impairment. A screening revealed the man was on a recognizance order with the condition that he cannot be found under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for breaching his order and was held in custody until court on Monday, March 5.

At 4:36 p.m. that day an employee of a business on Third Avenue West reported that a person was passed out in the stairwell on the third floor. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man lying in the stairwell and blocking the staircase. They woke him up and arrested him for mischief. A police check revealed the man was on a probation order not to be consuming alcohol, so the man was also arrested for breaching his probation. He was taken into custody until court the following Monday.
