The Northern Expedition was towed into the harbour this morning after technical issues prevented it from pulling into the terminal in Prince Rupert.
“We had a potential maintenance issue with the bow thruster, which is used for docking at the terminal. As a precautionary measure we did have a tug boat accompany the ship and dock it,” said BC Ferries spokesperson Deborah Marshall, who said the incident fortunately took place as the vessel was nearing Prince Rupert.
“It cropped up at 9 a.m. this morning, so shortly before docking. She should sail as scheduled at two p.m. to Haida Gwaii.”
